Faculty Recital Series Featuring
Members of The Philadelphia Orchestra
Sunday, June 15, 7:00 p.m., Thomas Great Hall, $10
Sunday, June 22, 7:00 p.m., Thomas Great Hall, $10
In this dynamic and extremely powerful presentation, our outstanding
faculty shares with the audience repertoire that shaped them as
world-class performers. Beginning with a piece familiar to even
very young students, progressing to pieces played by intermediate
and advanced students, and concluding with repertoire currently
performed in the major concert halls of the world, string players
of all ages can identify clearly with the musical journey on which
they, too, hope to travel as their own careers progress.
Performed by some of the country's most outstanding artists,
these spectacular and passionate solo recitals offer concert-goers
a rare and very personal glimpse into the musical progression
of a professional musician. It is an experience the listener will
not soon forget!
Previous years' programs have included:
David Kim - Concertmaster, Philadelphia Orchestra - "Progress
of a Violinist"
Roberto Diaz - Principal Violist, Philadelphia Orchestra - "Progress
of a Violist"
Peter Stumpf - Associate Principal Cellist, Philadelphia Orchestra
- "Progress of a Cellist"
Harold Robinson - Principal Bassist, Philadelphia Orchestra -
