The Strings International Music Festival includes each year up to six orchestra levels in the Senior Division (for students 11 years of age through the high school years) Placement is by age and skill level. Click here for detailed placement audition information. Students in the Senior Division may attend as either: Resident Campers (Residing on campus throughout the duration of the festival), Extended Day Campers (8:45 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.), or Day Campers (8:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.). Please note that the SIMF "Extended Day Camp" fee (see registration form) includes both lunch and dinner. The SIMF "Day Camp" fee includes lunch only.
Festival Highlights:
- Two private lessons with members of our world class faculty! Additional private lessons are available.
- Master Classes with members of the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra.
- Faculty concerts featuring members of The Philadelphia Orchestra.
- Daily Orchestra rehearsals.
- Required daily private practice, with limited practice coach availability.
- Solo performance hours with faculty pianist.
- Group trip to Philadelphia Orchestra performance at the Mann Music Center or new Kimmel Center. Previous excursions have included private, after-concert meetings with Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman.
- Concerto Competition - winners of our Concerto Competition will perform as soloists with the popular Ocean City Pops Orchestra in Ocean City, New Jersey.
- Kimmel Center Competition for violin students. Winners of this competition will perform an on-stage duo concerto performance at the Kimmel Center with Kimberly Fisher, Principal Second Violinist, Philadelphia Orchestra or other member of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
- Choir
- Ear Training and other music education classes.
- Optional Chamber Music Program.
- Gala Grand Finale Concert featuring all Strings Festival orchestras.
- Swimming, tennis, volleyball, basketball and more during free time.
