Children’s Day Camp Program |
This special Childrens Division program is offered to children from 8 to 10 years of age only. It is designed to balance skill-appropriate music activities (such as beginner, intermediate, or advanced orchestra participation) with age-appropriate social activities. Campers in the Day Camp Program are placed according to skill level in one of six festival orchestras, which rehearse daily from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. At the conclusion of each morning's orchestra rehearsal, students in this program - regardless of orchestra placement - are escorted back to the Children's Division, where they will spend the remainder of the day with students of their own age. Children in the Day Camp Program our dismissed at 5:15 p.m. This exciting two-week program includes private lessons with members of our world class faculty, solo performance opportunities, orchestra rehearsals, choir, daily practice hours, discussion groups, master classes, optional chamber music participation, instructional music game sessions, opportunities to attend concerts featuring members of The Philadelphia Orchestra and more! Free time activities include arts and crafts, swimming, tennis, basketball, soccer, and other sporting activities.
