High School students of all ages should be preparing NOW for college auditions. Kimberly Fisher, Principal Second Violinist of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and the PIMF faculty have helped countless high school students prepare successful college auditions. In this special PIMF program, students will gain powerful insights and advice on: Repertoire Selection, Establishing an Effective (and improved) Private Practice Strategy, What Teachers Look for in a College or Conservatory Audition, Utilizing Preparation Calendars, Resume Preparation, Combating Audition (and pre-audition) Nerves, How and Where to Set up Pre-Audition Performances, and more! This program, open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors of all skill levels includes: two-four weekly hour-long private lessons, three-four hours of required daily private practice, solo opportunities including two concerto competitions through which winners perform on-stage duo concertos with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra at the Kimmel Center or Mann Music Center and as soloists with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra in New Jersey, an optional chamber music program, Master Classes with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and much, more. *Acceptance is limited and on a first come-first served basis.

Kimberly Fisher - whose lecture series and presentations make up the heart of this special Juniors and Seniors Only program - has won five consecutive auditions with The Philadelphia Orchestra - ranging from The Philadelphia Orchestra substitute list to the position she currently holds as Principal Second Violinist. Ms. Fisher's energetic, communicative teaching style has led to invitations to present master classes, chamber music coaching’s, and audition preparation seminars around the world and she has inspired the creation of “Drumstring Publishing,” which features innovative arrangements and educational materials for string players. With an intensive daily schedule (including a minimum of four hours private practice daily) participation in this program could provide the perfect preparation for the highly-competitive world of college auditions.
Private Lessons and rehearsals with faculty accompanist are scheduled throughout the day as appropriate.
